Tim Fox is a prominent GCC Chief Economist, executive-level economic adviser, and financial markets analyst with a profound and specialist insight and understanding of the economic, political and commercial challenges of the GCC region. Formerly the Group Chief Economist & Head of Research at Emirates NBD in Dubai from 2008-2020, he created and built the economic research function at the bank and made it one of the most respected research teams in the GCC.

Tim has over 30 years of experience in financial markets in London, New York, and Dubai, which has provided him with extensive external exposure to a wide array of clients and constituencies in MENA and around the world, including with financial institutions, large and medium-sized corporations, SMEs, and high-net-worth individuals.

A frequent commentator in the media on global and regional business channels, Tim has also developed strong relationships with governments as well as with international organizations. He has participated in many high-level conferences and events, including regular contributions to the IMF’s MENA Economic Outlook and he also took part in the Dubai government’s successful Expo 2020 bid in 2013.

Tim has also been an adviser to a variety of prominent UAE and international companies including ADNOC Group and FTI Consulting. He also established MFX Consultants in 2023 as a boutique consultancy and advisory firm that provides advice on payment solutions for companies operating in the GCC.
